In 2017 Meshack Okumu contacted pastors to share the vision of the Samaritan Strategy. This led to trainings for more than 58 church leaders and pastors in Kayole Soweto. Among the Disciplines of Love in Kayole Soweto a homeless man was reconciled to his family, a hungry neighbor was given food, a parent was provided school fees for a child, others visited the sick, and donated life-saving blood to a critically ill woman. A woman who had been dependent on the church was helped to start a small business. The churches organized an outreach to the police force to help mend the division of politics, and one woman began an adult education program for women among the Maasai. One church used their building to create a center where community children can be taught and has helped some of them with their school fees. More than 36 Disciplines of Love and 16 Seed Projects have been completed, and many pastors have incorporated the material into their ministries.
MULTIPLICATION
Pastors continue the work of Samaritan Strategy using the material in Bible study and home cell fellowship to disciple the church, which is helping the church adapt the integral mission important in the transformation of their society. Out of 22 people attending 16 were commissioned as trainers. An assistant pastor shared that this training helped him plant a church.
