PLACE

PERIOD OF THE PROJECT
2016 – 2017
Sanjay Thul contacted pastors who wanted to learn and teach their churches change the situation of poor communities in the slums of Mumbai. After the Samaritan Strategy (SamS) training, the church members practiced disciplines of love and seed projects to demonstrate God’s love to the poor. They provided temporary shelter, food, clothing, and a bath to a homeless man. They donated blankets to poor families. They also provided seed money to help a family start a small grocery shop. Pastors continued to teach Biblical wholism through SamS lessons in their local churches. They were challenged to continue to train their local churches to use wholistic ministry to demonstrate God’s love in their families, churches and communities. There were 53 participants in the SamS project and 5 were commissioned as new trainers.
MULTIPLICATION
The SamS project in Mumbai has multiplied and started another SamS project in a city called Ahmedabad, which is 329 miles away. Local pastors from Mumbai are planning more SamS trainings in their own city.
PRAYERS
Praise God for blessing the SamS training in Mumbai and for challenging pastors to continue to train their local churches.
Please pray that God would open doors to start more SamS trainings with local resources.
