PRAYERS

Let’s praise the Lord for the events and participants reached by our ministry this week:

Pastors and church leaders have been trained by Samaritan Strategy in Rio Grande do Sul and in Santa Catarina.  Let’s pray for physical, emotional strength, and God’s guidance for their ministry decisions.

After days of heavy rains, the sun is shining in the south of Brazil, and today our team is doing a rally to finish the building of the Guarany schoolhouse.  We praise the Lord for everyone who has collaborated with the expansion of the Lordship of Jesus among the Guaranys. The music classes in a public school have ten students registered.  We praise God for the life of Rick Feitosa, our worker who disciples these students to grow like Jesus. Prayer meetings have been the highlight of our International Harvest Church.  May the Lord continue to reveal His will as we plan activities, and that we may be ready to listen and obey Him.

Let’s pray for the family of each worker, several of us have parents with advanced age and need prayers for them, their caregivers and physicians.

BIBLICAL CITIZENSHIP
Samaritan Strategy in Parobé

A thriving community is a shared dream for people in Parobé, State of Rio Grande do Sul (south of Brazil).  With 57,000 inhabitants, the city is known by the production of tennis shoes, manufacturing 50,000 pairs per day.  The Prophetic Mantle Church, led by Pastor José Poncio, actively participates in the construction of this community.  Since March, the church is part of a Samaritan Strategy project of Harvest Brazil, training its church leaders.  The participants of this training said that they always wanted to do something for the city but thought that first they needed a lot of money. With the Samaritan Strategy lessons, they discovered how to work with local resources and with the power of demonstrating God’s love serving their neighbor.  Thus, they planned to build a room for a boy with mental illness, to offer a seminar for drug prevention, and to serve meals for street people.  As part of their visit in August, Cefas Oliveira and Diógenes de Jesus – respectively President and Vice-President of Harvest Brazil – with Pastor Jose Poncio and Felipe Poncio, visited the mayor Irton Feller and the chief of staff, Valdenir Martins, and gave them a copy of the book “If Jesus Were Mayor” (photo), which has the Samaritan Strategy lessons.  Grateful, they committed themselves to multiply actions of service that will help Parobé grow.  With vision of future, they manage new possibilities of social and professional engagement, like an American soccer team, the Parobé Panthers F. A. and openings for English teachers.  People interested to participate in this great project, can contact Cleiton (coliveira@harvestfoundation.org).  We pray that Parobé may be blessed with the advance of God’s intentions in all sectors.
