PRAYERS
Seeking the Lord for His perspective for our troubles
“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” Job 42.5
Samaritan Strategy (SamS) projects: May the Lord give pastors and local leaders His perspective on their situation and challenges, knowing that no troubles are too large or difficult for God. May they have time to be refreshed and equipped to serve like Jesus.
Harvest Brazil projects: May the project coordinators understand that their problems are momentary, and that provision will flow for the international church planting project, music in the schools, teaching English as second language, and community development with the Guaranys. May God soften the hearts to confess Him as Lord and Savior.
Harvest Brazil team and families: We thank God for the 64 years of wedding anniversary of Rosali’s parents. May the Lord continue to bless them with the loving care of family and friends. Several of us have elderly parents, may the Lord touch them with healing in all areas. May they learn to fix their eyes on Jesus. We thank the Lord for the trip that Diógenes & Gabriela enjoyed while in the USA for a time of training and vacation.
Brazil: Join us in prayer for the victims’ families and everyone affected by the collapsed dam in Brumadinho, state of Minas Gerais, in the central region of the country. Also pray for the recovery of President Bolsonaro, who underwent a 7h surgery to remove a colostomy bag after he survived a near-fatal stabbing on the campaign trail in September.
USA: Thank the Lord for the work with immigrants who speak Spanish, Portuguese, and African languages. May He grant us His grace and wisdom for time management and team building.
BIBLICAL CITIZENSHIP
Praise God for what was done last year! By God’s grace, our work of leadership training in Brazil has flourished with the increase of all indicators. With 13 team members and 87 pastors and church leaders in our network, we did 16 SamS projects training pastors and church leaders in 7 (out of the 27) states of Brazil, 1 project in Paraguay and 1 in the USA, with the participation of 16 churches (breakdown below).
New fields: Praise the Lord for the new fields where God opened doors for SamS projects in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Paraguay, and Los Angeles (First Baptist Brazilian Church of LA). Pastors whose churches are willing to be witnesses for Jesus in their communities are in contact with us, and we’ve been able to serve them with practical ministry tools. In Rio de Janeiro, Diógenes has helped them seek the Lord in prayer. In Paraguay, the young couple, Leo & Rebeca, and Cefas facilitated connections with pastors from the Foursquare Church and YWAM. In LA, we came along with Pastor Miguel Albanez, leading a church of Brazilian immigrants and have discussed alternatives to train church leaders in their Institute.
